Open Meet- A meet between many swimmers from many different teams. Usually, any swimmer or team who will pay the entry fee is allowed to swim in these meets, and open meets do not have time standards. Open meets usually run multiple days.
Over/Unders- A training technique where swimmers swim 25 yards on top of the water, followed immediately by 25 yards under the water in a streamline kick. Used to work on breath control and streamlines after swimming; more closely simulates race conditions than a simple
no breather.
